Debre Birhan is located 132 km (82 miles) away from Addis Ababa on the Addis Ababa - Dessie road in Northern Showa Zone of the Amhara Regional State. The town is more than 500 years old and has been the seat of emperors in the past. It is known for its traditional and modern woolen products.
